a different drum

Here’s another one-word iTunes search. Actually, it started out as a two-word search; on shuffle play, Linda Ronstadt’s “Different Drum” came up a little while ago. Then, as a Peter Gabriel song was playing, I noticed its name was also “Different Drum” (from the excellent soundtrack to Passion: Music from The Last Temptation of Christ). I don’t have any other songs called “Different Drum,” but my iTunes library has nine songs with “differen” in the title:

Interestingly (well, maybe), searching for the word “drum” also came up with nine results. Besides the two songs already listed:

Drumbeat of War / The Rockhills / Struck By Lightning (which reminds me, I’m playing with those guys this Friday and I’d better go over the songs)

It’s just kind of fun to see the unlikely groupings of songs you get when you do this sort of thing. Admittedly, it sets a low bar for the term “fun”…. Feel free to share your own searches. I love to get comments.
