This is where I blather away about songs I like, and make MP3s available for download. I have spent many years making, playing and recording music, and I have some definite opinions.
Despite the old saying about opinions, I’ll try to at least make mine entertaining. And hopefully you will get a chance to hear or re-hear some less than obvious music. I intend to only post songs that are not well known or are difficult to come by.
As someone who has spent his entire adult life trying to eke out an existence from creative work, I take copyright very seriously. If musicians (and other artists) don’t get paid for their work, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what is going to happen over the long run. Although I am technically violating copyright by posting MP3s from my collection here, they are songs I think are important and deserve a wider audience than they’ve gotten.
My hope is that if you hear something hear that you like, you will be moved to buy the CD if it’s available. I think most people want to do the right thing, if they don’t have to jump through too many hoops to do it. I also think the music business has been very good at building hoops for people to jump through and then screaming when someone invents a hoop-jumper. But that’s a rant for one of my other blogs.
