In which,
questions you never even considered asking are answered.

No, really. Don’t thank me.

name:

Pat

birthday:

3 September

height:

I always thought I was 5' 10", and that’s what the scale at the doctor’s office says. However, almost everyone who knows me insists I am taller.

weight:

about 155, slowly creeping upward :-(

favorite foods:

anything with cheese in it, Indian food, Mexican, Middle Eastern—oh never mind, I’ll eat about anything you put in front of me. But I don’t seem to handle red meat very well any more…. I used to be sort of a semi-vegetarian; now I am even more wishy-washy than that.

age:

old enough to be uncool, but not old enough to be cool, as in the way it's cool my 78-year-old mom is on the internet.

astrological stuff:

Virgo with a Cancer ascendant and an Aquarius moon

true color:

blue

Meyers-Briggs:

INTP or INFP

married:

to Elise, 4 december 1999 :-)

smiley type:

with nose

children:

no, no, no

cats:

yes, 8 at present (photo page is being revamped, check back soon); in our defense I can only say that we lived next door to an animal hospital for years, and those people knew a soft touch when they saw one. Also, we helped rescue a couple feral kittens a few months ago and (of course) fell in love with them….

handedness:

left

footedness:

in mouth (at least it’s not hoof-and-mouth)

hair:

yes, it’s long. No, it doesn’t mean I’m some kind of hippie, into drugs, or a fan of the Grateful Dead (yeesh!). To tell the truth, it’s simple vanity: I look better with long hair than with short.

eyes:

yes. Two. Brown, usually surrounded by red.

occupation:

trying to get paid for screwing around with computers

other occupation:

trying to get paid for making a lot of noise behind a drumkit

education:

BA psychology, University of Kansas; MA Speech & Drama, University of Kansas. Don't imagine I am a debater or actor from that master’s degree; what I was studying was more or less research in social psychology…while wondering why I didn’t just kick it all and go play drums instead.

albums played on:

hard to say—maybe 15 to 20? Some were never released, and memory fades. In some cases that is a good thing….

ringing in ears?

yes, constantly. A little bit of every gig I ever played is still bouncing around in there.

drive:

2002 Kia Rio Cinco. People are always asking me about it. My only complaint is that it’s underpowered; overall, it’s a surprisingly nice little car for the money.

computer preference:

Mac, Unix. Dedicated user of Mac OS X which is a combination of the two.

siblings:

three. An older sister (married, three grown kids. Currently she, her husband and daughter are in Arusha, Tanzania as missionaries). A brother two years younger (married, in Boulder, CO). Another brother three years younger (in Wichita).

religion:

allergic to any organized form

subscriptions:

Smithsonian, National Geographic, MacWorld, Tape Op. As if I have time to read.

Did I miss anything? You can email me
I’ll even put the answer here, if I think it’s interesting.
